AMP PLC’s Forest Fuels Named Finalist for Sustainable Energy Installer of the Year Award

Exceptional year of growth secures Forest Fuels’ place in top green awards final.

South West Green Energy Awards judges have announced AMP plc’s Okehampton-based biomass wood fuel distributor, Forest Fuels as a top contender for their coveted Installer of the Year award.

The news follows the fastest and most comprehensive growth period in Forest Fuels’ history, which has seen the renewable energy specialist’s annual turnover grow dramatically and the number of biomass installations it supplies grow by 106%.

SOUTH WEST GREEN ENERGY AWARDS 2016Organised by Regen SW – the region’s sustainable energy agency – the South West Green Energy Awards honour the ‘innovation, dedication and creative ingenuity that has put the region at the forefront of the green energy revolution.’

“This is excellent news,” said Richard Burrell,” AMP plc’s chief executive, “and clear recognition by industry experts of the key role that our business is playing in consolidating the south west and UK biomass supply chain. Over the past twelve months Forest Fuels has taken huge strides forward, rolling out its successful model nationally, resulting in huge growth and exciting developments.

It’s a double-achievement in these awards because Forest Fuels’ managing director, Peter Solly has also been individually shortlisted in the Sustainable Energy Champion category. This is justified and important recognition for Peter’s long term dedication and commitment to driving forward the uptake of renewable and sustainable energy”.

In its mission to consolidate the biomass wood fuel sector, Forest Fuels has improved in every area, deliberately building a business that doesn’t have to rely on subsidies or be affected by policy changes. While other companies have been adversely affected by government policy changes, Forest Fuels has continued with ‘business as usual’, acquiring a number of other wood fuel companies, introducing a range of innovative new products, and maintaining customer retention at above 95%.
